How to get ready for you upcoming ultrasound ..... And other notes
Water , Water , Water... Being well hydrated is the very best way to help us get the best ultrasound photos possible. How ever You do NOT need to come to our office with a full bladder. We are looking to boost amniotic fluid around the baby. It takes quite a few days to do this , so start making sure your drinking your water at least 5 days in advance.. If your ultrasound is sooner then 5 days, don't worry, start now!
20 minutes prior to your scheduled ultrasound, a lot of mommies will eat or drink something that may get the baby more active..Such as juice ,soda, spicy food, Whatever you know your baby responds to. The more active the baby the more photos and chances for photos we get.
Appointment times:
We have a 10 minute grace period for your appointment. If you arrive later then 10 minutes from your scheduled time your appointment may have to be skipped so we are able to accommodate our other scheduled ultrasounds. So please arrive on time and drive safe!
Cancellation Policy:
Please call us as far in advance as you possibly can to let us know if you cannot make your appointment. As we are by appointment only and have scheduled a sonographer to be at the office just for you. So please, a month before , a week before , a day before.... please just let us know so we can adjust our schedule accordingly. Thank you!
Re-scans:
A re-scan is a free second visit given to those with difficult babies, resulting in poor quality photos or unable to determine gender. We want everyone to have the best photos possible. If our technician feels that an ultrasound is not going well she may offer you a rescan to try again. Many factors could cause a scan to go this way. Examples: Low amniotic fluid is a common factor, so is a backward or breech positioned baby. Placenta tissue in front, hands, feet, cord in front of the face or in front of gender etc... We do not mind spending extra time at your visit to try to get baby to co-operate.
We always do all we can to help these situations, But baby runs the show not us. So we are glad to offer one free re-scan to those difficult scans and are offered at our technicians discretion. If any additional redos are needed a nominal fee of $30 will be charged per redo if you so choose.We will take pictures of whatever baby will show us, I.E body pictures, Hands , Feet, gender etc...
Redos for Gender verification:
We recommend and offer gender at week 14 and later. We don't not recommend doing this before then. If you happen to come in before week 14 and ask tech to look for gender, She may find it , She may not, Babys are sooo small at this stage.
We only offer re-scans for gender after you are week 14 or later. Please see below our gender check guarantee
Things we don't offer redo for:
baby not showing face before week 24, So if you are 23 weeks and under and at your ultrasound we did not get any face shots due to babys position we don't offer redos , We will however get shots of whatever baby is showing, body shots , hands, feet,gender, active movement, Babys are so small and skinny at this stage it is very easy for them to hide. We always try our best to get baby to move or roll over and we don't mind spending extra time to do this, but if baby decides not to then we will print the best photos given. Please note that the very best time for facial photos is a little later in the pregnancy, between 27-34 weeks. We do these all the way to due date but that is the recommended time for chubby cheek facials. Best time for fetal movement is week 15-26
